Master's Wonders

One day I was driving my daughter to an intermediate school for an enrollment interview. On our way, I turned on my signal light at a stop sign and was getting ready to make a turn when suddenly I heard a loud "bang". My body was suddenly thrust forward against the steering wheel. I got out of the car to take a look. We had been hit by a car from behind. The trunk was smashed in all the way from the middle to the left side. Fortunately, my daughter was sitting in the rear right seat and was not hurt. When the accident occurred, she said that she fell from the seat and her glasses had fallen off, but she was not injured at all. The trunk protruded into the car but had just missed her. People marveled at how lucky she was to have sustained no injuries in the accident.

My daughter is a half-initiate. She told me later that the night before the accident, she had dreamed that I had driven the whole family, including her grandmother, uncle, father, brother, and herself to an outing. We stopped somewhere and all the passengers got out of the car, leaving only her and myself inside. Then a strong gusty wind came and the car was blown off of a cliff. Suddenly a stream of white light saved the car and the two of us. My daughter looked around and found us surrounded by sheer whiteness. Hearing that, I realized what had happened. I told her that the white light was Master and that it was She who had saved us. My daughter responded that she knew that already.

My car was damaged so severely that it could not be repaired. We received compensation from the insurance company of the party who had hit us. It was a miracle that the accident left my daughter and I completely unscathed even though the impact was so great. Only my chest hurt a little bit, but I recovered within a few days. The top of my head also hurt on that day, but I was all right the next day.

On the day of the accident, a fellow initiate who lived nearby helped me take care of things and sent me to the hospital for a checkup. He told me that in that kind of situation, the driver would usually catapult upward before being propelled forward. So I should see whether I had suffered a concussion. My head had hit the ceiling of the car but had not hit hard and I felt only a slight pain. I was very fortunate indeed. This brought to mind a dream that I had a few days earlier about the hair on the top of my head turning a silver color. That was a strange dream and I did not know what it meant. It was only after the accident that I realized Master had come to bless and protect me in advance.

Since this accident, my daughter and I have deeply felt Master's boundless love and care for us. She not only saves our souls but our lives as well. Although our physical bodies will decay like trees and grass sooner or later, as the spiritual Master of the universe, Master takes very good care of our physical bodies and lives just as a loving mother takes care of her children. All we can do is to diligently pursue spiritual practice to repay Master for Her grace.¡¹

One evening, my wife set the table and our family members sat down, ready to have dinner. Meat was a favorite of mine. So after having a mouthful of rice, I directed my chopsticks toward a dish of chicken. However, when my chopsticks were halfway there, I saw very clearly a live chicken standing right in front of my eyes. Shocked by the vision, I thought, "How can I eat it?" I moved my chopsticks away toward some green vegetables and then had some more rice. However, I could not believe what I had just seen. I then turned my chopsticks toward a dish of pork. Immediately the vision of a pig appeared right in front of me. Even until now, I cannot forget the lifelike appearance of these animals. The experiences themselves were not frightening, but afterwards I became terrified of eating meat.

One day after this incident, I listened to one of Master's audiotapes. My brother-in-law, who is an initiate, had gone on a short trip overseas, and I had borrowed his car, having left mine at an auto shop for service. There were about a dozen of Master's audiotapes in his car. I was curious as to why he followed a vegetarian diet and spoke so positively about Master, so I listened to the tapes without anyone knowing. The result was totally unexpected. I kept rewinding the tapes and listening to them again and again, more than ten times.

To be honest, I absolutely agreed with Master and was awe-struck at the miraculous experiences of some of the initiates. When my brother-in-law returned, I borrowed some more tapes and books from him. I began playing the tapes as soon as I got into the car and read Master's books as soon as I had completed my work in the office. In Her teachings, Master made many references to the light and sound being discussed in the Surangama Sutra. I bought a copy of the sutra in order to verify this claim. Reading the sutra deepened my faith in Master, so I wrote a letter asking for initiation.

While waiting to be initiated, I was not idle. I followed the instructions for the Convenient Method, meditating with great joy in the morning and evening almost every day. Early one morning, I was awakened by something. Since I could not go back to sleep again, I got up and meditated. After only a few minutes, a spot of light appeared in my wisdom eye and a feeling of numbness surged from the bottom of my feet right up to my head. Later I lost all sense of my body, except for a cool feeling in my nostrils. I knew that I had left my body, but since I was not yet initiated into the Quan Yin Method, I did not dare to run around inwardly by myself. This experience strengthened my faith in Master's teachings.

I would like to thank Master for responding to my prayers. Several days before I was to be initiated, I talked things over with my wife, and unexpectedly she agreed to receive initiation with me. The two of us practicing together has removed any problems that might have arisen had it been just one of us following a vegetarian diet and pursuing spiritual practice. All these years since initiation, we have never been sluggish in our meditation and we have enjoyed a smooth and steady life. And now my daughter has become a half-initiate. We owe it all to Master's teachings and blessings. Thank you very much, Master!¡¹

One day, I fell ill because of hyperpyrexia. When the doctor had seen the results of my blood and urine tests, he recommended that I be hospitalized immediately for treatment. My office superior also urged me to check into the hospital for observation. However, my two children were also running high temperatures. My husband was away in the military and his unit had been transferred to another base so he could not come home at once. I had no relatives in Hualien (Formosa's eastern coastal county) and I felt completely helpless and at a loss. I asked the doctor: "Can I wait until my husband comes home tomorrow or the day after?" The doctor replied: "No way! These two days are the most critical time for you. You are running a persistent fever, and your medical checkup has yielded abnormal results. You

My husband traveled through the night and arrived home the next morning. When he saw me, my temperature had fallen, and the two children were also well on their way to recovery. We quickly went to the hospital for a further checkup, and the doctors were amazed to find that I had recovered completely overnight. Only I knew the reason why -- I have a Master who can manifest into thousands and millions of forms! Since that day, I have felt that I am the luckiest person on earth living a most secure life.

Of course, after my initiation, life has become more real and beautiful, and I am no longer my temperamental self. Ever since I have had Master, my life has become a fulfilling and satisfying one.¡¹

Master also took me to heaven to look at the flowers in the heavenly garden, which were fresh, beautiful and charming; and they danced rhythmically. It was really wonderful. I looked at them happily and silently. At the same time, I paid homage to the genius of God.

Another time, I was taken by Maya (the negative power) to a deep valley, perhaps to clear up some old karma, but I had no feeling of fear. I recited Master's name, and then an intense golden yellow Light immediately blazed forth, and I returned safely. I am very grateful to Master for saving me in time. I stayed in the light for a long time, and then I saw the white light turn to silver threads above my head.

On yet another occasion, Master took me to see the Thousand-handed Buddha. I was situated very close to him, and when I saw him, I immediately knew that he was the great Buddha. He was very authoritative. I saw a whirling pair of hands slowly extending outward, followed by another pair, and the turning became faster and faster. I thanked him with the highest respect for the many blessings that he has, by his grace, bestowed upon me. He allowed me to understand that he has been busy saving sentient beings without ever stopping. At that time, the manifested body of Master also appeared in hundreds and thousands of different clothes of different colors. She was lecturing here, relieving suffering there, caring for refugees, and so on. My heart was filled with infinite reverence and boundless love for Her.

I had truly hoped to see Master in Hsihu on Ching Hai Day the year before last; however, I did not go because of some business obligations. Nevertheless, during meditation, Master took me to the celebrations. What I saw was exactly like what I later saw on the videotape of the event. The only difference was that in the vision, Master was radiating very bright light. All the monks also had light surrounding them. That night I heard a church bell ringing nonstop, after which I heard very harmonious heavenly music, the likes of which I have never heard before in my life.

Once, Master even took me to hell to save a relative from bitter punishment, for which I felt infinite gratitude. Master also let me see the flooding in Au Lac and Australia. Because of this vision, I knew beforehand, the locations and times of these events. My mother and I together prayed for the safety of the sentient beings involved. With highest regard, I present to Master the fruits of my practice in this recent period.¡¹
