Report From Canada Master Is The Pioneer Of The Century

[Ottawa] The Ottawa fellow practitioners recently participated in the Psychic Mystic's And Seers Fair during the 4-day Labor Day weekend. It was estimated that thousands of people attended this fair. As this was the first time our fellow practitioners participated in such an event, the feedback was very positive. Due to Master's blessing, we were able to obtain a booth and complete the normal setup and preparation work in the shortest time. Besides, the presentation of Master's lecture materials, two large signs were posted to introduce the Quan Yin Method to visitors. 

Many people were amazed that the sample booklet was free of charge, and happily discovered that we had copies of the booklet in their native language. In these four days of exhibition, many touching and interesting stories occurred. A writer read the chapter of the sample booklet entitled "Mystery of the World Beyond (Master's lecture at the United Nations) and later came back, requesting a copy of each available News magazine and flyer. He told us that he started reading the booklet and became "addicted Also, one lady told us her mother died a few months ago and she had been thinking a lot about birth and death. Not long ago, she had a dream. It was an "unusual one. She came to this Psychic Fair and stopped at our booth out of curiosity. Looking at the Quan Yin Method sign, she felt that there was some relationship between our booth and her dream. After reading Master's booklet, she wanted to be initiated into the Quan Yin Method. 

In addition, one of the fellow practitioners at the booth said that her sister had died not long ago, before she herself had picked up a copy of Master's sample booklet. The day after this fellow practitioner's initiation, her daughter told her that in her dream, her aunt came and told her that she is now studying with The Supreme Master Ching Hai. Furthermore, the exhibitor opposite us love to watch Master's videos and spent most of her spare time watching them; she also felt Master's blessing. Another lady who knows about astrology said that Master will be the pioneer of the century and will break many old traditions and lead the world toward the Truth. Overall the initial feedback from this Psychic Fair was very good. Many people have been approved by Master to practice the Convenient Method and some have already started to keep the vegetarian diet. 

The Center constantly receive phone calls from those who came to the Psychic Fair and were introduced to Master's teachings. One gentleman was so happy; he told us that it was the first time in his life that he could meditate for thirty minutes. Thank You, Master, for giving us the opportunity to participate in this fair. ¡iInternational Reports¡j Report From Philippines A Good Example Of Self-Reliance

[Palawan] Ever since the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees ended the aid program to refugees living in Palawan camp, fellow practitioners in the Palawan Center have become self-reliant. Around the meditation hall, many types of seasonable vegetables are grown. Thanks to fellow practitioners' meticulous care, newly planted vegetables grow incredibly fast and in great abundance, so that there is not only enough for living but also for exchanging of daily necessity. Besides gardening, sister initiates also utilize their free time to make Chinese-style garments for exporting to overseas countries as a way to earn a supplementary income to help defray other living costs incurred at the Center. They

practice Master's teachings in daily life, and set a good example of self-reliance. To meet the growing demands in spirituality and vegetarianism, many restaurants have emerged to provide delicious and exotic vegetarian delicacies. Since the Center is known as the main place that produces vegetarian food, the restaurants send their employees there to be trained in preparing a variety of vegetarian dishes in order to serve and meet their customer's needs. They offer those vegetarian dishes that have transformed the meat based ones into the purer delicacies by simply and easily replacing them with tofu and wheat gluten. Workers at the Palawan City radio station have come to know The Supreme Master Ching Hai through the

programs at their station made possible by fellow practitioners. They have also helped to broadcast Master's teachings via television. Since then a flood of earnest response has occurred. People who long for the Truth were given the opportunity to come and inquire more about Her teachings. Encouraged by their enthusiasm, fellow practitioners entertained them and let them try the vegetarian dishes, making them feel at home. Indeed, stepping into the big Quan Yin family, everyone felt like brothers and sisters who had come back to their sweet hometown. Despite their busy schedules, the teachers and students of Manila's "Pity University took the opportunity to visit the Center which they had heard a

lot about. With open hearts, they were extremely happy upon arriving at the Center; they felt relaxed and uplifted. They also received Master's books and magazines, and all praised that this visit was a bountiful one. ¡iInternational Reports¡j Report from Cambodia HE Samdech Hun Sen Invites The Supreme Master Ching Hai To Bless Cambodia's New Generations

[Phnom Penh] Early in September, upon receiving the invitation from His Excellency Samdech Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, and his Lady, Master went to meet with them at their home. Royal guard cars lead the way. His Excellency and his Lady stood at the front door to welcome Master; they cordially expressed their gratitude to Her for coming. In return, Master presented a gift box orchids (the king's flower) to them, specially selected and hand carried from abroad, to express Her gratitude. The humble and kind Prime Minister invitingly insisted that Master sit in the seat of honor again and paid high respect to Her. His Excellency once again welcomed Master to Cambodia. Furthermore, he was

grateful for Her gracious contribution. The fund has been utilized for different kinds of construction, benefiting many Cambodian people. When His Excellency openly acknowledged receipt of the contribution, Master shyly expressed that She was not used to with this kind of formal "thank you Master praised him for his working style - paying careful attention to every minute detail. Because His Excellency frequently needs to travel to different provinces in order to govern the country, Master kindly asked after his health. She asked him to take good care of his physical condition for the sake of Cambodia's future. After the meeting, His Excellency's Lady and Master walked hand in hand down the

stairs. Master lovingly handed out gifts to all who were there, and everyone was very joyful. His Excellency and his Lady saw Master off in Her car, and with closed palms, bid Her farewell. Also with closed palms, Master returned the gesture of formality. On the morning of September 7th, on the invitation of HES Hun Sen, Prime Minister, and his Lady, Master set off to Bun Rany Hun Sen Development Center in An Cuo Fu Village, Gan La province, to join in the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the completion of the school building there. On that day, Master traveled with military guards leading the way. She wore a traditional Cambodian gown in purple color, looking very noble and elegant. Many dignitaries and reporters

waited at the front door. Master humbly greeted them with closed palms. The reporters were amazed to see the arrival of such a beautiful guest. Focused on Master, their cameras kept on clicking. Soon, amidst the enthusiastic applause of the audience, HES Hun Sen and his Lady entered the auditorium. His Excellency and his wife shook hands with Master and some of the attending guests, expressing their sincere and heartfelt gratitude. His Excellency thoughtfully arranged for a Cambodian interpreter to translate the content of his speech. In his speech, His Excellency mentioned Master several times, thanking Her for Her contributions to Cambodia. HES Hun Sen, Prime Minister, also mentioned that many people

have been asking for the establishment of more schools. However funds are lacking so he was unable to carry out the people's wish. Upon hearing this, Master immediately contributed $40,000 US as fund for the building of schools, which will benefit many more students in the future. Her compassionate contribution touched other guests present, so they also followed suit and made their own contribution. His Excellency especially thanked Master for looking after the children of Cambodia, announcing the contribution once again over the microphone. The people in the audience were very grateful too, they heartily applauded Master's kindness. His Excellency Samdech Hun Sen then invited Master and other

guests to tour the new school and dormitories. The building stood on a vast piece of land, contrasting vividly against the background with its bright colors. It was a sign of Cambodia's bright future. The school building had been colorfully decorated with streamers and balloons. After His Excellency and his Lady cut the ribbon, Master and the guests applauded in congratulation; they were happy for the new generation. His Excellency then led everyone to visit the weaving and cosmetology classrooms. He and his Lady had planted some young saplings next to the classrooms, and water them with care. Master and the guests gathered around and wholeheartedly wished that this school, along with

Cambodia, would steadily mature into prosperity. His Excellency and his Lady invited Master to visit the student's dormitory. Afterward, they shook hands with Her, bidding Her farewell and thanking Her for joining in the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The International Exhibition Of Body, Mind and Soul In London [London] This September has been a month of spiritual harvest for Great Britain. Master's holy name and the blessing message about the Quan Yin Method has spread from south to north in England. Held annually in London, the International Exhibition of Body, Mind and Soul marched into its twentieth year. The convener especially chose Alexandra Palace -- a famous sightseeing spot in north London -- as the venue for this great event. Many spiritual groups were attracted to participate. The most exceptional of them all was the Quan Yin Method, which one rarely encounters even in many

aeons. All the fellow practitioners responsible for this exhibition meditated diligently. The exhibition booth was elaborately decorated; and when a huge poster showing a smiling The Supreme Master Ching Hai was hung up, the whole venue brightened up. Visitors were captivated by Master's various publications, Her artistic creations. And the video lectures broadcasted on the spot made people simply reluctant to leave. During the three days of the exhibition, there was a continuous stream of spectators, including many veteran Truth aspirants. Some asked for the initiation just after they've visited our booth. Many people were greatly interested even though they had only gotten in touch with Master's teachings

for the first time. They asked for sample booklets, News magazines, and registered to learn the Convenient Method. Most worthy of mentioning was, while watching the videos, many spectators exclaimed that Master's discourse had solved their doubts of many years. Some even immediately purchased the videotape that was being shown. Everyday, there was a huge crowd of visitors attentively watching the videos, and they were reluctant to leave even when it was time to close the venue. The next day, these sincere persons would come back to watch again. One day, when the video of the Celestial Clothes Fashion Show was being played, a middle-aged couple stood there and watched until the tape was finished. The following afternoon, they came

back and requested the fellow practitioners to play the video for them again. They highly acclaimed Master's multifold talents and Her superior enlightenment, which urged them to know more about Master and Her teachings. This three-day exhibition caused the telephone in the London Center to ring incessantly. Master's teachings have spread widely in England. Under Her guidance, the seeds of the Quan Yin Method will surely sprout and grow quickly in England's soil and throughout the world. The Light Of North England Spiritual Exhibition [Yorkshire] It was early Autumn in West Yorkshire; the climate was slightly cold and damp. Coming from different cities,

fellow practitioners gathered in Leeds, and then moved on to Bradford to join the Light of North England Spiritual Exhibition 1996, taking with them the good news about the Quan Yin Method. Our exhibition booth faced precisely the main entrance of the exhibition hall. In Her photograph, Master's compassionate eyes soothed everyone who passed by. The two-day exhibition attracted a large number of spectators. Pointing to Master's photo in which She was wearing the attire of an ancient Chinese emperor, a lady exclaimed happily, "I saw this Master in my dream last night! A young man who just got in touch with Master's teachings for the first time studied the sample booklet very seriously.

Pointing out the five precepts to his friend, he said, "This is what we should be able to observe in daily life. There was always a large crowd stopping at our booth to watch Master's videos, and to ask about vegetarianism and meditation. Reading Master's sample booklet, a spiritual singer exclaimed happily, "Wow! Quan Yin! I have just sung a song praising the Quan Yin! This singer had watched Master's videos before, and she understood much about Master's teachings. She said, "Though I am not initiated, I understand how fantastic the Light and Sound is. She praised Master as "a most charming person When she appeared on stage again, she sang a song from her heart -- "We Shall Become One -- to voice

out her quest for Truth, goodness and beauty. More and more people have identified the quest for Truth as their target in life. Spiritual development is now a common topic of conversation among people. Master's timely guidance has brought hope to the sincere Truth aspirants. The seeds spread by the living Master have made this world become increasingly brighter. Just as what was denoted by the theme of this exhibition -- "Our Planet Has Begun To Change -- everyone, tangibly or intangibly, is marching towards the Golden Era.¡¹

[Singapore] Recently, the 28th Singapore International Book Fair was grandly held at the Singapore World Trade Center. Over two thousand publishers worldwide participated in the exhibition. The Singapore Center, with Master's blessing, secured a strategic corner located at an intersection of walking isles. This allowed an unblocked view of the videotapes being played and arose much interest as many passersby, who casually and curiously had glimpses of the videos, were soon captivated by Master's intriguing discourses. Many others were also drawn to ask for the free sample booklets and News magazines, and made enquiries regarding the practice. The hassle-free and relaxed

atmosphere in the fair also allowed visitors to browse through the books exhibited and interact with the local fellow practitioners. Through these sincere interactions, many signed up for the Convenient Method and subscribed to our free bi-monthly News magazine. During the exhibition, visitors came in endless streams. Such was the attraction that working personnel from neighboring booths also came and watched the videos, most of the time forgetting to get back to work! There was a cute little boy, barely three years old, upon passing by the portrait of the Master, automatically closed his palms together and bowed in veneration. This surprised people around the booth. No one had taught this boy to do that;

it must have been he himself who felt Master's magnificence. Everyone has God nature inside, no matter how old they are! There was one teenager who sat through more than six hours of videotapes, refusing to budge even on the repeated insistence of his mother and sister. In addition, some visitors saw the manifestation body and halo of light in each and every one of Master's photos. The numerous encounters of this proved that when the incense of Truth is lit, the aroma of enlightenment permeates far and deep into every seeker's heart! Plain text Aphorisms Spoken By The Supreme Master Ching Hai (Orignially In English) Now if we have a very simple life, it's easier to help people and to help ourselves. Also we have security from our spiritual practice. So very seldom we fear. But still, despite all this obstruction and ungratefulness of mankind, we continue to do good. We still continue to improve ourselves to do what is right, because it is right, because it is the challenge of this world that we always keep the way of God, we always keep the commandments of conscience. That's how we rise above all differences, all the praise and the blame to be a noble being. If we forget our real Self, then we are very lonely and we suffer much arduousness in this world. Once we are connected with this real Self, things begin to take a turn for the better; and we will be more clear about which direction we take and what things we do to offer to ourselves, the society at large and also to the whole universe. After we know all the secrets of the universe, after we possess all the treasures of the heavens, we desire nothing anymore. We become happy within ourselves; whatever comes, comes. We become like a child. We do not desire and the desires of this world will not burn our hearts any longer, will not have anymore control over us. That is the advantage of becoming enlightened. If we change, the situation changes. If we have heaven within us, peace within us, then everywhere is heaven, everywhere is peace.

Plain text You May Not Know Enjoying The Poem Recitation By Wu Tzu (The Supreme Master Ching Hai) By Brother Initiate Pad K.R., Bangkok, Thailand (Originally In English) If someone asked me whether or not I would like to hear poems recited in a language that I did not understand, the most likely answer in my mind would be "Oh, no! I am not interested or "Perhaps not, thank you! Even in layman language I still could not imagine the phraseology in the poems which were carefully selected by the poets, and usually have a hidden sense or some deep meaning. Of course, it could only be a waste of time! Even though I've heard the Au Lac poems recited by Wu Tze (The Supreme Master Ching Hai), my attitude has now become totally different. I couldn't understand any of the language; but the first time I heard these poems, I felt surprisingly calm and peaceful. It was a very light and refreshing feeling which is difficult to describe. Everything that was melted and mixed in this piece of work is just perfect and magnificent, either the clear beautiful voice of Master, the unique art of poem recitation which undulates accordingly, or the accompanying music played by two kinds of instruments, flute and zither. All the components seem to support and blend with each other harmoniously, creating an extremely wonderful masterpiece, not to mention the blessings from the reciter! Several hours passed by without me even realizing it, intoxicated in the beauty of this art piece. Actually, I have spent four to five years learning how to compose different kinds of Thai poems in school, and have heard a lot of poem recitations performed by famous Thai artists, but the feelings have never been like this. I cannot help beginning to admire the Au Lac traditions and culture, feeling that the people of Au Lac must be very beautiful inside, in order to possess such a glorious culture. Master once explained to us that the Au Lac language has six different tones, which is quite rare. Other languages that She knows, including Chinese, have only five tones at the most. Therefore, the language that we hear has the character of musical tones and the poem recitation is much similar to singing a song. However, the skill and capability of the reciter is absolutely very important in poem reciting. Master has been capable of composing beautiful poems since She was young. The verses that She composed in school were quite outstanding and appreciated by Her teachers so much so that they were often read to all teachers and students in higher classes, despite the fact that She was not in the senior class of the school. Therefore, She has been an expert in Au Lac poetry for a long time and Her capability in poem recitation is truly exceptional. The evidence which clearly demonstrates this fact is that Master never had a chance to rehearse the poem reciting before it was recorded. The first time She read them, She just had to recite them immediately by selecting proper tones for all the words, deciding where to stop between the words, preparing for the ending, etcetera, without planning in advance. She did not recite only the ones that She wrote Herself, but also some other beautiful poems written by other famous poets. Therefore, Her talent on this matter is not to be doubted. Unfortunately, a lot of Master's poems that were composed and compiled into a thick book when She was young have been lost. The ones that are still left represent only a small portion of Her work. Some of the poems have been published in newspapers and were sorted out from the library by disciples. All these poems were written at the time when She was not yet fully enlightened. They describe Her life experiences, love, and feelings towards things of this world which reflected Her state of mind, and sense of inner beauty and virtue at that time. Master humbly said that Her voice was not so good because She recited all the poems after the retreat, during which She had to spend long hours each day talking to disciples and more hours for other issues. Even under such circumstance, I still feel that Her voice is exceptionally clear and beautiful. It is so profound and powerful that people become intoxicated after hearing it. Master also admits that She loves to hear Her poem recitations. She said that every time She listens to them She feels happy, peaceful and relaxed. "It's too bad that you don't understand the language. If you did, you would appreciate them a lot more because Au Lac language is the most beautiful in the whole planet! And Au Lac recitation is the most exquisite in the world," said Master. We have to thank Master and everyone who participated in bringing these valuable work of art to us. The spiritual development in Argentina has been hindered due to its large beef production. However, with Master's power at work, some miraculous changes have begun to occur in Argentina. With the arrival of a Quan Yin messenger, and Master's infinite blessings, all local fellow practitioners felt a tremendous joy. The first activity we started was to prepare a conference to show Master's lectures on video, and to treat all those attended to a Chinese vegetarian dinner. The invitation flyer also contained a brief account of Master's background and activities. We received a warm response from the media. One of the well-known journalists in Argentina, Mr. Rolando Hanglin

of Radio Continental, contacted us for an on air interview, talking directly to his large audience about Master and the Quan Yin Method, as well as announcing the good news of the upcoming conference. During the interview, Mr. Hanglin's questions were kind and comprehensive, and he wound up the interview with thanks for bringing to the public of Argentina a person like The Supreme Master Ching Hai and Her teachings, which will no doubt interest everyone. The day of the conference finally came. Guests started arriving before the scheduled time; the hall was completely packed. They attentively watched Master's videos; their joyful and contented faces revealed their inner recognition and

awakened souls. The food we prepared was more than enough, with plenty left over for guests to bring home to share with families and friends. The vegetarian dinner was not only tasty to the palate, but nourishing to the soul as well. The guests thoroughly enjoyed it and praised the food, which was permeated with Master's boundless love. Many people were willing to become vegetarians, and applied for the Convenient Method. We were thrilled to receive Master's approval in a matter of hours. The Argentine fellow countrymen indeed have great merit. Even though Master was not present physically, everyone present strongly felt Her loving blessings. Some of those who received the Method saw Master's

image, past masters, inner light and many other experiences. Then phone calls enquiring about and requesting to know more of Master reached the fellow practitioners in great numbers. For those longing hearts, and with Master's blessings, a second conference was arranged soon afterward. Among the attendants to the first conference was Mrs. Dora Marin, Special Chancellor of the Pan-American Health Association in the Argentine government, and Advisor on Public Health and Social Welfare to Legislators in the Argentine National Congress, who had heard of Master over three years ago: "The Supreme Master Ching Hai is a messenger sent to us by God. She has all the gifts to bring peace to Earth; Her arms are wide open to embrace us all,

giving us Her love and teaching us to do the same to each other. Mrs. Marin has totally identified with Master. In fact, her job is to manage funds from the Argentine government in order to provide assistance for floods, famine and disaster's victims. We were particularly impressed by her humility and spirit of service. She naturally joined us in serving dinner after the conference, as friendly and understanding as any family member. Furthermore, we were contacted by TV cable channel NBS of Buenos Aires, and were interviewed for a program of one hour in length about Master's life, Her humanitarian efforts and the Quan Yin Method. The interviewer, Mr. Norberto Bellino, quite a professional in

his job and an experienced man in his field, was touched and moved by Master to the point that, as soon as the interview came to an end, and the lights and the cameras turned off, he immediately applied for the Convenient Method. He said, "I don't need to hear the conference to know that 'this' is what I want. Miracles kept on occurring - phones rang continuously, passersby stopped and stared at Master's portrait, requesting to watch Master's videos, bringing with them their families, relatives and friends. The good news is spreading. Master, You are compassionately awakening your long-slumbering children. "Thank You are small words to convey our gratitude, yet we can't help but to say, "Gracias,

Greed, Anger And Lust Come From The Kingdom Of God

Q: The last goal of meditation is liberation. Please, Master, let me know if a liberated soul is really liberated from greed, anger and lust, etcetera.

Yes, I already said the enlightened person when he is angry, it's not real anger. He is not deeply shaken. Or the person who the anger is directed towards is not affected with hatred, with the negative atmosphere. The enlightened persons are never angry for selfish purposes. He's never angry because you don't give him enough money, because you run away from him, or his wife runs away to another man or vice versa and he tries to chase her back and finds other ways to harm that person -- the rival. The enlightened person may appear to be angry, but for different purposes.

Sometimes you have to use so-called aggressive energy to break through it in order to work and to advance in your mission. He's not angry because no one feeds him, no one gives him money, or no one loves him. You cannot get away from anger. You must use it. There is a difference between the real anger and the one who is enlightened who uses anger as a weapon.

It's just like a knife in the hand of the surgeon. It's different than the knife of a murderer. It's still the same -- it hurts, it bleeds, but it heals. The surgeon knows how much to cut, where and how long. But the murderer, he just blindly kills people out of hatred or for selfish interests.

Anger, greed, lust and all the so-called negative qualities all came from nirvana; all came from the Kingdom of God. They are all noble qualities. Why are we greedy for the things of this world; because we came from the glorious Kingdom of God. We are used to glory, we are used to richness, we are used to the things that we don't need to work for. That's why we are mostly lazy -- don't like to work. We just want money, we just want diamonds. (Laughter) We must know in this world, it's different. We use this greed to push ourselves through this world in order to achieve the precious stone which is inside us, the wish fulfilling gem.

Greed is not bad. Anger is not negative. Lust is okay. Just we have to use them in the right way. Use it as a tool to heal, not to kill. Then everything is okay. Nothing is negative. It's our misconception that makes things negative. (Applause)

I had received especially good treatment from my parents since I was little, because they had the feudal idea of regarding men as superior to women. In addition, I fortunately married a virtuous woman who took good care of me in every possible way. Being in this situation where everyone yielded to me, I regarded anyone who had a different opinion from mine as being unreasonable. Therefore, I was often angry. Even my wife, who lived with me for twenty years and endured me until our children grew up, left me in a huff. However, I still considered myself as always being in the right and did not realize at all that this trouble was caused by my vainglorious motto. Having a firm ego, I still felt complacent. In recent years, since I could not stand the painful loneliness, I finally married again. In order to cherish this late coming spring, I was determined to safeguard this marriage with all my efforts, and hoped that she knew it and would reciprocate this feeling. However, it went contrary to my wish and made me experienced a lot of pain, discouragement and despair. How could a person like me who hated unreasonable people the most all of my life, marry such an unreasonable person? In the end, we separated and went different ways. At the time that I resumed my single status, a miracle happened. In a vegetarian restaurant near my home, I accidentally saw Master's sample booklet. Feeling as comfortable as a fish in water, I immediately decided to become a vegetarian. Then, I knew that due to my gout I could not eat soybean products like tofu, soybean milk, soy sauce, etcetera. However, with my faith in Master, this little gout could not hinder my decision to take up a spiritual practice. Just like what people say about receiving a positive response if one is truly sincere, my gout was really cured with no medicine. Another even more incredible thing happened to me. Usually, I was always reluctant to get out of bed. Hearing Master says that the best time to meditate was from three to six in the morning. I felt that waking up then was even harder than being a vegetarian, because that period of time was when I slept the most soundly. I never knew that I had to sacrifice this much for my spiritual practice. However, Master cleared my doubt. To my surprise, She made me get up right at three o'clock starting from the first day that I learned meditation, without letting me feel lazy in getting out of bed or too sleepy to open my eyes. Due to my curiosity, I deliberately delayed my bedtime till before dawn, but I could still keep my meditation schedule. I have tried it repeatedly, and each time it was proven right. Master's blessings are really incredible! After I attended group meditation for the Convenient Method, my physical and mental changes were incredible. I have come to like my appearance more and more. My inner freedom and happiness have permeated my old face, which has become very bright and glossy and even has fewer wrinkles. Who said that a vegetarian diet did not have enough nutrition? Now, I am wholeheartedly waiting for my initiation and long to see Master. Each day, I read Master's books and the News magazines, listen to Her audiotapes, or watch Her videotapes. Now Master has become of primary importance to me. The worries and loneliness that have always overshadowed me have virtually disappeared. Brother Yang is still considered by his friends to be an unbelievably extraordinary exception after initiation. No one would have believed that such a professional gambler who had spent his life in numerous casinos could put down so decisively all that he had been intoxicated with. A few years ago, brother Yang was gambling like mad. Each time the bets would amount to millions. Day after day, he did not care anymore about his job. He was spending almost the entire day in the casinos. During this time, relatives and friends had tried to talk him out of it. However, with such an easily agitated character, he would not listen to anyone's advice. There were also some monks who had tried to talk to

him, but it was of no avail. There were a few fellow practitioners living in brother Yang's neighborhood. They advised him whenever they had the chance. However, because brother Yang left school at a young age, he was unable to read much and also unable to understand Mandarin. Therefore, he was not clear about Master's teachings. Brother Yang's younger brother was also a fellow practitioner. One day, he gave him one of Master's lecture audiotapes and brother Yang started to listen to it in his room. Surprisingly, he was able to understand Master's lecture in Mandarin! This unbelievable experience is still unforgettable to brother Yang even now. He said that he was listening with a very sincere

heart. Without knowing why, suddenly he could understand Mandarin! This was very shocking to brother Yang. He then decided to become vegetarian and wanted to get initiation from Master. When the decision was made, brother Yang absolutely did not want to have anything more to do with gambling. He did not even want to associate with his previous gambling friends. There were a lot of tests when he first started being a vegetarian. Nevertheless, he did not want to give up the ideal of getting liberation and persisted in being a vegetarian. After a few months, he finally got the chance to be initiated in Sin Hua Center in Tainan. When he first stepped into the Center, he could feel the loving and

friendly atmosphere of the fellow practitioners. This wanderer of the unorthodox circle of the past was touched and said to himself, "I should have come much earlier! Now, brother Yang's whole family have all become fellow practitioners. Every big and small group meditation, he and his whole family happily go together in a car and have become really happy practitioners. This time he is betting with his whole life, throwing himself into the Quan Yin Method. Victory is a definite certainty!¡¹

¡iMaster's Wonders¡j Master's Transformation Body Liberated Me On The Bus By Sister Initiate Jiayin Zhong, Taoyuan, Formosa One day, after talking with a would-be initiate about her affinity in finding Master, I was deeply shocked and touched. With sincerity and gratitude, I have recorded her experience, wishing to share this holy love story of the living Master with everyone. "One day in 1992, on the Xinchu bus from Chung Li to Longtan, a very young and beautiful nun, wearing an orange colored Tibetan lama's robe, was sitting in the front seat. She held a walkman in one hand, pressing the buttons with the other hand. Because her lama's robe was special, it drew my attention. I attentively watched her every move, thinking about where she had come from and where she would be going. Suddenly, she turned her head and looked at me with a smile. Then she continued to play with her walkman. When the bus arrived at Longtan, I stood up to get off. The nun also stood up and got off through the front door. Seeing her walk away, I thought that I might give her a ride on my motorcycle. When I got my motorcycle and wanted to catch up with her, I could not find her anywhere. After the would-be initiate finished her story, I excitingly told her, "What you saw was Master's transformation body. Master appeared to you in order to liberate you. She said, "How could that be? She looked so real. How could She have been a transformation body? At that time, I did not know who She was. Several days later when I went shopping, I unexpectedly saw a poster about this nun's lecture posted on an electricity pole. On the poster was written: The Supreme Master Ching Hai, a Master from the Himalayas. Only then did I come to know that the nun whom I had seen several days earlier was The Supreme Master Ching Hai. From then on, Master has been in my heart, and I have never forgotten about Her. In the past few years, I have practiced other methods, but they could not satisfy my spiritual longing. Deep in my heart, I more and more firmly believe that only The Supreme Master Ching Hai is my true Master. As I write this, the melody of the song, "A Little Lamb Wants To Go Home resounds in my mind. Each time when I sing this song, I can not help being touched and shed tears. Each fellow practitioner has some affinity with Master from past lifetimes. After we come to this world, we immediately forget about our Home and then begin to reincarnate life after life. Our compassionate Master is like a shepherd, enduring the hardships of a long and tiresome journey, thinking nothing of the hard work of looking for the group of loving and ignorant missing lambs in this bottomless secular world. She eagerly teaches us with boundless love and leads us to return to the Home of our soul. Master's grace is vast and mighty. The only thing that we can do is to comply with Her teachings, apply them in our daily lives, and follow Her footsteps till eternity.

Plain text While On The Path Enlightment While Teaching Who Infects Whom? enlightenment While Teaching By Brother Initiate Child Heart, Taipei, Formosa I am an elementary school teacher. I spend a lot of time with children. I love to play with them. When we play together in a carefree manner, communicating heart to heart, I really feel relaxed and joyful. Children are innocent, kindhearted and lovely. We always try to give our children a happy environment in which to learn; however, it is we, ourselves, that deprive the children of their happiness. We, the adults, value social status, so we pass on this ideal to our children, that they will achieve high academic degrees. In this way, we neglect their personal interests and the true desires in their hearts. I once taught a child with an introverted personality, whose academic results in school were obviously not very good. Nevertheless, he was very happy at school. Whenever it was snack time, he would dance with joy over such a little thing. Seeing this, I found him to be the child with the least desires among all that I have met. His simple, innocent joy shines through his bright smile, as if shining all the way into my heart. Suddenly, I felt that it was not me who was teaching him, but him who was teaching me. In this world, he was playing the weaker one perhaps, but to God, who dare say that he is weak? Master has quoted from the Bible, "Children are the closest to God. If one is as simple as a child, one can enter the Kingdom of God the easiest. God gave us children to let us learn the lesson of love, so that both the children and us can grow. After initiation and spiritual practice, we should understand even more that knowledge is ephemeral, and realize that our inner wisdom is eternal. We should also know that fame and gain are all illusionary, but that spirituality is everlasting. The most important lesson in life is to cultivate morality starting from childhood, to practice spiritually with correct concepts, to realize our own God nature, and to keep our childlike innocence on our road back to heaven. ¡iWhile On The Path¡j Who Infects Whom? By Brother Initiate Sang, Seoul, Korea (Originally In English) The Seoul Center is located in a building, and because of this we have the opportunity to come into contact with people from various social levels. Some of them have little education and seem to be interested only in money. On my way back to the Center one day, I encountered some of the employees on the stairway. I thought to myself that they were spreading not a very good atmosphere and vibration, so I kept my head lowered, trying not to watch them and get any of their bad influence. At that moment, I judged them unconsciously, thinking "How stupid you are! You are only interested in money. Entering the Center, I picked up a videotape at random in order to prepare the translation for the fellow practitioners. I watched it alone, and as I was watching it I suddenly felt amazingly embarrassed. On the tape, Master was saying, "You should not criticize anyone outside. You criticize and mock them and I could kiss their feet knowing the innocence and purity of their souls. How can you criticize them? I felt so sorry and stupid. In fact, I did not follow Master's teachings even though She always says that we should not discriminate. We are all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, to be sure. The difference is, it is our turn to go Home and their time has not yet come. To meditate and to be a vegetarian is not a big deal as Master had said. We should not feel superior to them or be proud of ourselves. Thank You, Master, for reminding me again of the fact that we are all one.

If we don't think that it is we, ourselves, who are doing it, then there is no problem at all, understand? It is like the wind blowing in the air, nothing is harmed; but if we place an object in its path, then it will be blown down. Forgotten paradise, meditate on wet ground, half an hour, Concentration -- here at last....Drop it! Myriads of tents, colorful dots in the parks, Just one step from Finland to Portugal....There's my lane.* Unknown faces, familiar faces -- doesn't matter, we're all one. On the construction sites at Raising Center, we can always see the following scene: A huge excavator is stuck in the mud and unable to move. Suddenly, a worker would put his palms together, and start to recite, "The Supreme Master Ching Hai, then the excavator would miraculously crawl its way out and resume its operation. At another construction site for the hospital, a huge piece of concrete with decorative carving was to be placed on top of the roof a few meters above the ground. In order to have the work proceed smoothly, all the workers would recite, "The Supreme Master Ching Hai in unison, and when the concrete piece was successfully put into place by manual labor, they all would joyfully cheer.

The workers at Raising Center all like Master very much. When we first went to the elementary school construction site to gather news material, they all asked for Master's photo. When they received the photo, they jumped up and down like happy children. They said that they wanted to have Master's photo very much, because by wearing Her photo more of their fellow countrymen would come to know about Master. It would also remind them to speak and behave properly, not to act against their own conscience. One worker said that he had been well taken care of. Other than the three meals, the doctor is always ready to help in case of illness or accidents. He would also receive Master's blessed food frequently, which is not

available elsewhere. They also said that the life here is very simple. They work in the day, and rest near the construction site at night. They very much enjoy Master's News magazines, because Master's teachings are easy to understand, and can be used in daily life, which makes them feel that it is possible to improve themselves. A worker even said, "The scripture indicated that a Buddha would come to save sentient beings after two thousand years, and he feels that Master must be that Buddha. Even though some people do not know how to read, but they still like Master a great deal. There was a fifteen years old girl who really wanted to have Master's sample booklet. She was

extremely happy after receiving it. During the lunch hour, she fell asleep hugging the booklet. For her, it was not important to read the words in the booklet, because she had already communicated with the Master from within. A worker, Chan-Kirivone, who was responsible for carving the concrete piece, had already been working for three weeks. Before he came, he had already seen in the newspapers how Master has been helping the Cambodian people. After he came to the construction site, he read Master's sample booklet and talked to some fellow practitioners; he then began to appreciate Master's teachings. He also loves Master's noble ideal of selfless service to people. He had already studied

the scriptures, worshiped the Buddha, and practiced meditation since he was young. He said that meditation gives him inspiration, and Buddha would always guide him so that his carvings would be closer to perfection. The workers have had many experiences that they wanted to share with us; but because of the language barrier, they were unable to speak freely. However, we could still sense their joy. Many of the workers had noticed their own improvement. Some have quit smoking, while others are cutting down on the same habit. A worker also said that even though all the meals here were vegetarian, he did not want to go out to buy meat because he did not want to incur more karma.

Goodness is inherent in everyone. When the simple and innocent Cambodian workers had the opportunity to learn about the Truth, they all wanted to better themselves. We believed that their desire will lead more souls together back to the Pure Land of the Buddha.¡¹

Full of ideals and vigor, I participated in the reclamation saga of Raising Center in Cambodia. In the beginning a proud attitude of knowing how to work well brought me a series of obstacles and troubles. My sense of confidence was gradually replaced by a sense of defeat. I became clumsy in my work. Not only that, I could not even catch up with the tempo of the group -- I was causing troubles! The sense of failure that followed made me very upset. I was blaming myself shamelessly because of the fear of losing face in doing the wrong thing. After struggling for sometime, I could not bear it anymore. I cried to the inner Master, repented, and asked for guidance to let me to have the courage to face myself, to let me have the

chance to correct myself so that I could grow quickly. Early the next morning, I was sent to another group. I happily participated in the work of cleaning the environment. One of the jobs was to burn and bury the parched 'bamboo barbs' that remained after clearing the land. Initially, I thought that the burning and burying of garbage was an easy job. It was in doing the work that I realized that it took a lot of know-how. The burning of the 'bamboo barbs' was especially troublesome! The sharp and hard barbs would tangle with one another and one would easily get hurt if one was not careful enough. When I was having some resentment in the heart and complaining in the mind, a barb pierced through my rubber boot

and penetrated the sole of my foot. The pain woke me up from my dream. Seeing the bamboo in the fire, tears rushed from my eyes. I was thinking, shamefully, that the pride and strong disposition in me was just like one of those 'bamboo barbs', that had hurt other people for a long time! When one was hurt, it was so painful! I silently prayed to Mummy-Master, wishing that all the 'barbs' accumulated through many lives could be burnt in the fire! May all the visible and invisible barbs be burnt into ashes! How could it be possible that a person with 'barbs' could work with others? I must get rid of my pride and prejudice first before my confidence could be built up again. It did not take too long. After I opened up my

heart to learn the lessons of humility and obedience, I was sent back to the original group to work After working for days under the hot sun, strong winds and rain, it was really a great comfort when I returned to work inside. The work with woks and spatulas require great humility and obedience, as water and fire have no compassion! God wanted me to learn how to control myself well so that I could finish the cooking in time. I faced the whole new challenge with the most happy heart. I had to learn through the lessons of humility and obedience to understand the secrets in leadership, command and working at different levels. The road of practice is full of learning opportunities. Master

has graciously given us such a good environment to let us try our best to correct and examine ourselves and to practice diligently. I am so grateful! I prayed to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the ten directions in the three periods of time to bless us, hoping that our reclamation saga would proceed smoothly and benefit sentient beings. In just a few months, the lessons that I learnt have been so varied. Everyone's vibration has become very fast. In order to catch up with the group's tempo, one has to thrust forward diligently. Lady Suam has been living in Thlok Tasek Village for more than ten years. At the age of twenty-seven, with six children, she is pregnant once again. Her family earn their living by chopping and selling trees. Lady Suam happily expresses that ever since we, the Quan-Yin family, came here to stay and became their neighbors, the land has revived and flourished, despite severe past destruction from fires. She has observed that the climate has changed: Originally, the weather here was dry, but now it rains and rains. She joyfully exclaimed, "Now, the weather is cool and rainfall is abundant. This condition is very suitable for planting rice! She thought this change was all due to Master's sincere prayers for them.

Master has lovingly visited them, sweetly handing out candies and cookies galore. She even looked at her cows; that made her very happy. Although they cannot communicate with each other because of the language difference, Lady Suam deeply felt Master's sincere care, regarding Her as one with a compassionate heart. She is grateful to Master for praying for them and for making their life more and more happy each day. She hopes that she can see Master often. Now, she and her husband visit the Compassionate Heart Temple to worship the Buddha every night. Before, there were no temples in this neighborhood. The nearest temple was very far away, and they were only able to worship the Buddha once every

month or two. She thanks Master for Her thoughtfulness, and for understanding their spiritual as well as physical needs. Due to our group's development project here, their lives have changed a lot. Now, not only do they conveniently have access to clean water, they eat vegetarian meals shared by and with us. She has completely accepted the vegetarian diet. Happier still, she's glad that her children will be able to attend school as soon as the building construction in Raising Center is finished. She says, "Ever since Master came here, my life has become more and more joyful! When asked whether there was anything in our ability that we, in all humility, could do to help, she just smiled and shyly said, "I hope Master can pray

for us and make us happy.¡¹

Under the clear blue sky dotted with white clouds, everyone would be singing while looking after the fields and, at the same time, feeling happy at the sturdy growth of the baby vegetables and fruits. Sister Huei-Ling Yu said that there were a lot of local inhabitants living near the vegetable farm. The children there are pure and simple. They often stayed close to us and watched curiously how we planted the vegetables and fruits. They also shared our happy working atmosphere. When we taught the children to sing a Chinese children's song, lder brother and father are really great. Their names and status brighten up my family... The intelligent children were rather smart in learning to sing it! But when we tried to learn some Cambodian words, our awkwardness was obvious. When the children saw Master's photos that we were wearing, they very much liked them and asked for them shyly. After having gotten the photos, they disappeared happily. However, they appeared again after a while and held some candies in their small hands to give back to our sisters. How lovely were these little angels!

The ego is a terrible thing. So what we should fight, what we should criticize, what we should be on guard with...it is the ego not the other person. It is enough to take care of ourselves and control our own temper, and bad habits and all kinds of ego tricks. Never mind if we left it unguarded and then go attack a neighboring country. You know, you don't have enough army to even protect our own country so don't attack other country. That is the problem with us. It is just like a strategy in war. Only if people attack us then we use our defense. Otherwise we don't need to spend so much money on army, first. Second, if our defense is not enough, don't attack other country because you'll murder yourself, you commit suicide. But that's what we do all the time. We don't guard our own country, the five senses, the deadly enemy. We don't guard ourselves; we don't guard our mind; we don't guard our thinking; we don't guard our talk. You just try to watch other people. And even if that person is really bad, you are taking in all the bad things because you pay attention to it. Just like you're receiving things; otherwise, how do you know it is there? If you open a door and ask five persons to come in, you have to have them. If they are outside, you don't notice them, you don't ask them in. You don't have them in your house. Is that not so?

There was a man who meditated very, very diligently. Then, he saw an angel appear to him and say, "I'm the Archangel Michael. He was kind of drifting between big consciousness and waking, and dreaming and non-waking; you know, all these big Buddhist words. Then he opened his eyes, "What? Angel?... Who?... Angel?... Okay... Angel? The angel repeated again, "I'm the Angel Michael. I've been sent to you to deliver some very important message, because you have a big mission in life, to deliver all sentient beings. You know sentient beans? Mexican beans? Black beans? (Laughter) So now, the meditator was awakened out of samadhi, "Huh? What did you say? The angel repeated again, that he has been sent to him because he is virtuous and he has a mission for God, blah, blah, blah. But the meditator said to the angel, "Oh, I think you are mistaken. I am not that virtuous. I am not that holy. I think I don't deserve an angel being sent to me. So, go look elsewhere. As soon as he realized that the angel disappeared. Now, test your IQ. Why? Just W-H-Y? (Laughter) Don't know? Good! That's just what I expected from you. (Master laughs.) Because there wasn't a real angel. Ahhhh! Now, you know everything. It was the devil, His Majesty the devil himself who came and tested him. Luckily the meditator had strong enough will power, humility and self-knowledge and no greed for fame, praises and acknowledgments, doesn't matter from where. We, the meditators, should remember this. As soon as we desire for quick profit, fast enlightenment, complete one hundred percent like a whole pizza on a plate and we hurry, then we might fall into the trap of the devil. As I told you during the time of initiation, the King of Maya, the King of Illusion or the devil himself, can anytime manifest exactly like the Buddha, a devil, an angel, God or any past, present and future saint in order to mislead the sincere or careless practitioner or the less vigilant, the less careful practitioner. In a Buddhist sutra it mentions also the fifty kinds of traps that the devil often used to waylay the practitioner, to lead him astray....well, no need to know many things about the devil even. Just keep pure, sincere and honest with yourself; then you will never be in any traps, in any trouble, and no one can ever trick you, not even the king of devils himself. Should we desire fame and profit, high position even in the spiritual hierarchy, then we often will fall into the trap of the negative force because that's just what they wait for; wait for us to be caught off guard and then they will brainwash us into believing that we have already become Buddha, that we are great, that we have a mission, that we this and the other. Then we become proud. We become trapped in the field of false pride, of arrogance, and we're finished. Yes, maybe we could come back again to humility and to continue the practice as before, but it might be very difficult then. We might be led too far, far away and then to come back, takes a long time. We waste a lot of our effort and time. So, as a practitioner we cannot afford to be careless, to be proud of our practice, or to want quick spiritual position in the spiritual world. Many people meditate just a little bit, don't keep the precepts even very well, vegetarian diet is so-so, just have a few misleading visions, and they believe that they've become masters and Buddha and things like that. You can become what you wish to become. You can boast of your achievement but the fruits, they speak for themselves. Sometimes it ruins our life. We ruined ourselves and then it's very late to be able to get back to where we were before. So, humility is very important in spiritual practice. We must be humble within ourselves, not that we act humble only. Sometimes people don't act very humbly, but inside they're humble. Some people they play humble; but, in fact, inside they're very, very arrogant. Sometimes the outward appearance misleads people. Mostly, we, the Quan Yin practitioners, if we reached a spiritual height high enough, we can sense the other person, what he or she's inside, not the appearance. Or, if we practice further and further, sometimes a person will come next to us, near to us, not come to our face yet, we did not even see who that person is, and we immediately know who that is. Have you experienced that sometimes? You have. You can sense the person's aura and energy and you know that person. Of course, not a stranger; because when it's a stranger, you don't know who that is. But if you have many friends or family members around you, and whoever comes to the door, before you see him you already know that person is coming; and it will be so. Not that you see or hear him or anything. When you know that person is coming, and immediately he comes or in a few minutes he appears in front of you, then you know that you are right; because all your sense of psychic ability, physical sense and spiritual sense will be sharpened and sharpened very, very much after some time of spiritual practice. Not only Quan Yin Method practice but any other kind of practice will sometimes offer this kind of clairvoyance, clair-audience or psychic ability. But this is no big deal. These are just some of the small psychic abilities which are latent within ourselves. (There are much greater aspects of wisdom for us to discover if we practice Quan Yin Method.)

The Wisdom Of Life

Spoken By Supreme Master Ching Hai At Raising Center, Cambodia

July 30, 1996 (Originally In English, Unabridged)

In heaven, we have only one name -- that's the name of love and wisdom. (Applause) Thank you. So, don't worry that we are apart from each other, because we are not really apart. We are the same, the same substance; and as long as we go in the same direction, sooner or later we will meet each other again or we will arrive at one point, one destination. So meditate everyday and enjoy the privilege of the sainthood that you have been admitted into. The light and sound are there sometimes to assure you that you are doing okay, you're going in the right direction. Whenever the light is very intense and the sound is very, very clear that means you have entered deep into the higher consciousness; when the sound is faint or the light is dim that means you are just at the border of higher intelligence.

So these are the measurements for you to know yourself, how far you have advanced, not for anyone to really judge you, whether you are a higher Buddha or you're a lower Bodhisattva. There is no nonsense like this. We're all going home. Someone goes slower, someone goes faster, just like here. If you are a lot hungry, then you run fast to the kitchen. If you've just eaten biscuits in the tent, then you go slower; or if your legs are longer, you walk faster. The Asian people with shorter legs like me walk very slow. That's why we have become a snail family! (Master and audience laugh.) Last time we bestowed upon ourselves all the titles: golden snails, silver snails -- all kinds of snails -- stainless steel snails (Master and audience laugh), ordinary snails.

Only The Light And Sound Can Help Us

Only the light and sound can help us in any kind of situation in this world. So for us, any kind of karma, any kind of bad burden from the past, present or future, there's nothing else in this world that we can rely on. These, the light and the sound, are the only methods, the only equipment that God has bestowed upon us when we descended into this world, so that we can protect ourselves, so that we can remember the Kingdom of God, so that we can dissolve any difficulties and obstructions on our way of finding the Kingdom of God. Any troubles in this world -- be it in your business, in your family circle or in the personal love relationship -- are there actually just to make trouble for you, just to sidetrack you from the journey back to the Kingdom of God. And God knows that beforehand, so we are given this equipment, the light and the sound, so that we can slash them all asunder and then advance further. Without light and sound, we never can make it back home... never, ever. Just like without the airplane, you can not make it here to Cambodia so fast and trouble-free.

So anytime you have any problem, be it with yourself, with any of your love ones or any of the employments or businesses, anything, you just sit down and meditate. The problem will become clearer to you and then you'll know how to solve it, or the problem will just disappear itself in time. Sometimes we panic, really because the world seems to press upon us for certain things, or at a certain time and certain demand. We panic and say, "Oh, my God! I cannot make it. I have only one more day or half more day and I just don't want to do something else. I want to do this thing right now and other things just come making demands on me. But then after we meditate for a while, the world withdraws its demand on us, or the problem just goes somewhere else and then we panicked for nothing. (Master laughs.) So, just keep cool. C-O-O-L, cool. (Laughter) Keep cool, baby (Master and audience laugh), and everything will be all right.

Listen to your intuition inside. Sometimes it's difficult. You have to see which is the strongest voice and remain steadfast on that strongest intuition, because sometimes you feel like you should do this, continue to do this job, but some other people come and demand you to do the other job, and the other people come to tell you this is better and it's no use now -- "It's going to be no use. You'd better run fast to the other direction and do this, that and that. But then you feel inside you should do this, but it makes you feel like in a struggle and torn apart from different directions. Then sit down and meditate and listen to your own Buddha voice, the intuition voice inside, the silent voice that tells you what to do. Or at least stay calm and you can see clearly for yourself which direction is better for you.

I tell you all these from experience. I'm not telling from a book. Books don't teach us this kind of thing, not too many. And it always works, because where else can we run to and what else can we use to deal with the world as it is, huh? So much overwhelming suffering, so much nonsense, so much pressure upon us, the small creature; and sometimes we really don't know what to do and it makes us feel very, very anxious, very restless. Meditation on the light, on the sound are the only things we can do at that time of necessity. But anyhow, you can pray, too. Praying doesn't mean "Oh, please do this, please do that for me, or, "Please, help! You can say that but at the same time, you must believe that help is already there. If you don't believe that, it's very bad for you.

Faith Is The Best Prayer

Only faith can bring the things into actualization, because actually we are God. We are Buddha already. Help is always there. We don't even need help. If we are the Buddha, we know what to do, no? So believe it. If you cannot believe in your own Buddha Nature, then believe in the Master power, the Master's Buddha Nature. Then that will help you, because even if you didn't have a Buddha Nature, supposed you didn't have, supposed you were not the Buddha, then okay, at least someone else, like the Master, would not leave you in trouble. The Master would immediately know, would know before you even called, and would already have tried to find a way to help you. So just believe in it. That's the best prayer for you. Believe that it will be done as best for yourself, whatever happens it will be the best for you and you will see it in the future, very soon, that is the best.

So, anytime any problem and you want to pray for yourself or want to pray for anyone, just believe in it. You can ask Master to help or ask your own Buddha Nature to help, but you must believe that it will be done and it is being done, it has already been done. Then, it's okay. Remember the Bible also says whatever you pray for, believe that it has been granted to you, then it will be done. It's the way it is. If you keep crying, "Oh, please help me! Why don't you help me? It has been five minutes...it has been ten minutes. I'll give you another ten minutes. (Master and audience laugh.) That's not the way.

You must believe. Your faith in yourself is the greatest healing power of any illness, of any problems that you might encounter. You must believe this, because you are the only Buddha within yourself. We are all the Buddhas, but the Buddha inside knows what to do already. The soul knows what to do. If you cannot believe, just believe the Master power will help you, because it will. It does help anytime. What's the use of having a master and then the master doesn't do anything for you. Even an ordinary father, mother would try their best to help their children; ordinary teachers would try their best to help the students. How would a spiritual master, having access to all heaven and earth, just leave you alone in darkness and in trouble?

So, there's nothing we cannot solve with faith in ourselves or in the Master power, because actually the Master power is your power. You and I are one. So, if you cannot believe in yourself, okay let it be, because you feel separated from the Master, fine. Then believe in the Master power. If you really think the master is good, why would the master not help you? And the Master power is omnipresent; there's nowhere the master is not. Anywhere you call, it's just the Master right there, twenty-four hours, remember! So, everywhere you stay, everywhere you live, whatever you face, don't panic, just believe. It will be solved if you can't solve it yourself. Try your best. If you cannot, then the Master will help you. That's what the Master's there for. Until you find your own Master power, the one who knows must help.

You Are The Answer You're Looking For

Just like the teacher, before you know English he must help you to know English, to see, to learn, to teach you A-B-C, and to repeat this sentence, that sentence, and to read all these articles until you know them yourself. That's what the teacher is there for; but you also must know, learn yourself, and believe in your own ability, because you can do anything you want. You are the Buddha, never forget. Even if you cannot believe it, don't forget it. Don't forget what I've told you, because what I've told you is the truth. Don't believe anything less than this about yourself.

Have confidence, not pride but confidence within yourself because you are that which you are searching for now. There's nothing else but that inside you, what you search for. The one who is searching and the one who is searched are only one. Have you thought about who is searching for whom? Who is the one that is telling you to search that person, for that being? It's you yourself. Only God can know God. Only Buddha can feel longing for the Buddha Nature, longing for your Home. If your home was not in the palace, if you had not been the prince in the palace, you would never miss the palace, you would never long to go back to the palace, understand?

So, if in your heart now you find yourself longing to go back to the Kingdom of God, or for God realization, it is because you're God. You have been God, and now you have forgotten or something else that separated you, that's why you long for. Don't fear that we are not together because we always are, we always will be. But for the fun of creating a lot of things, we have been separated as it is right now. It's also fine, no? Don't you think so? Yes! Suppose we're all one already, me, you are one, only one face in the whole room here, only one big body like this, wouldn't it be terrible? (Laughter) No fun, huh? Everywhere is my head, everywhere is my arms, everywhere is my feet, nothing else I see here. (Master and audience laugh.) No men, no women, nothing, and no winking eyes sometimes. (Master laughs.) Then nothing to do, understand?

We should be really thankful for the creation as it is, so that we can enjoy each other, so that we can have something higher to long for, to hope for, to aspire for. Otherwise, "Okay I am sitting here. I am God. I am Buddha, and that's that, you know? "I want nothing, I wish nothing, I see no one, I do nothing for no one. No one loves me, I love no one because I am me, me and you, you are I, I and you. That's that, and also no fun, huh? So creation is all right. It's just that if we suffer so much from our wrong choices, previously, then we must change now.

The five precepts or the Ten Commandments we must keep because that's your salvation. Do not think the body is not important. The body is important. Without the body, the mind cannot exit there. Without the mind, the soul has no experiences in this world. The mind and gray matter -- the brain -- are different. The mind is invisible. The brain is the material instrument with which the mind uses to touch, to know the things around it. So, don't confuse the mind with the brain. But the mind is also very, very strong. So you have to feed yourself adequately, bodily, so that your body is strong and keeps long, so that you can practice better and you can benefit the world longer. Don't disregard your body. Give it enough care, proper hygiene and protect it from weather, hunger, accidents and sickness. You have to think always positive and strong. Anytime you're ill, either you willed yourself to be sick or you probably let someone else affect you by your own will. Then just meditate more, take proper medication, and make yourself feel better.

Don't think that the five precepts are from any strict Buddha or rigid Bodhisattva trying to control your life. No, no, no! The body is not made for alcohol, cigarettes, drugs and all kinds of strong stimulation. That's how we shorten our lives, and that's how our ancestors, or parents shortened their lives and imparted this knowledge to us of the shortened life span. Otherwise we would live longer. So you heard that Jacob and whoever it was in the Bible lived long, long, long years. Oh, they had about eight hundred children or something like that, remember? Also in many of the Chinese legends, they lived until eight hundred years or many thousands of years. Still there are some people who live that long. Actually, we could live very long, longer than in this kind of life, about a hundred years. Like this, too short. That's why sometimes we wonder why life is so short. What can we do in this kind of hundred years span.

We were not meant to live a hundred years. We are meant to live long, long, long, longer than this; but because of ignorance, self indulgence in all kinds of poisons, our genes from our ancestors kept shortening and shortening and imparted to us this kind of weak body. Then when we come here, we're also influenced by society, like okay, take a glass of alcohol or whiskey is cool. It's sociable, it's high-society. Actually, it's no good for us; anything that contains alcohol is terrible for your body. It shortens your life. It dulls the mind. It confuses the vision.

That's why if you have a risky sickness or an operation, doctors always advise you: Don't drink alcohol two weeks after the operation, don't smoke, don't have this and the other. Then why? Even if after sickness we should not drink alcohol or before or during the sickness we should not drink alcohol or take drugs, then why should we do it ordinarily? It is very harmful. So, if you want to live a healthier life, if you want to live longer, take care of yourself and your family, then stay away from all these toxins. It's not a rigid rule. It's just a natural way to live our life so that we'd be more healthy and clearer in our mind, not drugged all the time, not groggy and sluggish.

The Only Secret Of Longevity

Actually our lives should be joyful, active and meaningful. We can learn a lot of things with our time, learning just for the sake of joy, for the sake of learning. You can start learning how to play the piano, guitar, dancing just for exercise, or learn golf, football, baseball, tennis, anything you like to do. You still can always start because your body will obey your command and the cells will start to produce younger cells. Because you want to live so they say, "Oh! You want to live, fine. We do, why not? The cells just listen to the command of the mind. So make sure your mind is healthy, lively, active and you want to live, then you will live longer. That's the only secret of longevity.

Also you can take some vitamins, if you believe in them, because faith is also in the medicine. If you believe vitamins are good for you, of course your faith is invested in the vitamin pills and when you take, it's good for you. Of course vitamins can help supply some of the missing elements, because sometimes we don't take enough nutrition or we take too much of one kind and not the others. Actually, if we are active, we're strong, and our mind is healthy, it can convert any kind of food into a healthy diet and make us healthy; but stay away from the poisons -- alcohol, cigarettes, drugs. Drugs, I mean those heroine kind, marijuana, things like that. These are poison for you, and these poisons are expensive. You're stupid! Pay so much money for poison. Whiskey is not cheap! Anything alcoholic is not cheap, hmm?

Drink fruit juice, drink water, mineral water or tap water if it's clean enough, if it's drinkable. These are good for you. Eat wholesome foods. Eat fruits, vegetables, tofu, vegetable protein. All these are very good and prolong your life. Eat nuts (Master and audience laugh), nuts are good for us nut-cases. Actually, to the world we are crazy, you know? So if we are already seen as crazy, there is nothing else to worry about. Just be as crazy as you want. All kinds of margarine, all kinds of things that are good for you; olive oil, anything natural is good for you so don't spare your body the nutrition that is needed. But don't over eat, because that also will make you feel very bad and sleepy. Even if the food is good, eat as much as your body needs. If it's too much the body also cannot digest and a lot of it is wasted outside.

Even if I don't have a good example for you about eating, you'd better listen to me. (Laughter) The doctor can be sick but he can also cure you, can heal you. Even if a doctor has the same sickness, he can still cure you because he is a doctor. He knows how to heal people, so don't come to the doctor and say, "Oh, my God! He looks so...! Last year he had a liver operation, how can he cure my liver problem now? It has nothing to do with it. Maybe his lifestyle is not so good or maybe he was poisoned by some of the environmental toxins, like some time he went to India and got hepatitis, things like that. Very difficult when you go around the world to keep the hygiene condition intact, unless you bring all your kitchen with you, the staff, too; and they cook for you everywhere you go, which is inconvenient. In hotels they don't let you cook, so you have to eat the hotel food; and sometimes the cook, he just tastes it, and donates some of his saliva free of charge into the food. That you don't have to pay for, but then you pay a lot for doctor's bills later. That's all troublesome.

Sometimes I am also ill, because I run around too much. I stay in hotels, I eat restaurant food. I eat anything because sometimes people invite me, and I eat with them so as to make them feel good. If I sit together with all the guests and demand my own food, my spoon, my fork and everything like that, oh God! Then they would feel very uneasy.

So, don't look upon my body and sickness and my hospitalization sometimes, feeling that my advice to you is not worthy. It is very good advice for you, all the precepts and all the things that I've imparted to you are good for you. Just live according to them and your life will be longer, your heath will be more strong, and your economy will be better than before -- you'll save a lot of money for medical bills, for doctors and for suffering. Not only save the money, you save the suffering. You don't have to go to the hospital so much. If possible, you just eat at home, cook yourself, I mean cook for yourself. (Laughter) Cook for your husband and your children.

Now and again, of course you want to enjoy you go out to eat. That's all right, but pray a lot before. Make a lot of Five Names, cleanse it with light and whatever power you can get from anywhere, from ten directions, eat it, and believe that it's clean and wholesome. That's the only choice. Even if you don't believe it, try to. What is the use of not believing in the food? Even if the food is bad, would it help you to believe it is bad; it would not. So might just as well believe positively that it's good, that it has been cleansed by the Buddha power. Then it is, because nothing that the power of the Buddha cannot do, nothing that God cannot do for you. Hes can make poison become nectar, so if you have to go out and eat, try to believe this. It probably won't help you every time but it helps a lot of times, depending on your karma and your faith.

Sometimes very difficult because you talk to the person next door and he leans to you, talks, and donates some saliva at the same time. At that time, you're busy listening to him and forget to pray (Master and audience laugh), but just pray in advance, and pray after, "Please, whatever I have eaten (Master and audience laugh), I know you take care of it, so it's all right. Try to believe it. Otherwise what can I do for you? What can I tell you, because your life is like this. Our life is like this. For you, it's easier because every time you travel, you just come to my Center and our Center is as clean as possible already with people taking gloves, and cover all their noses and their mouth, so that the bacteria or whatever don't come into your food.

Extra-Terrestrials From Outer Space

Our world is covered with bacteria and a lot of disease, but we're already much immuned to this system. If other people from other planets, suppose if there are some from other planets, if they came here they'd get sick very quickly. So if they come here they have to equip themselves with a lot of sterilization, masks, suits and gloves, everything. That's why sometimes you look at the extra-terrestrials they look very weird, don't look like humans so much. Actually, they are very beautiful; except the bad ones and the ugly ones, they are from a different dimension. But most of the advanced extra-terrestials they are very beautiful. Some are very high, taller than us, three times bigger than the Americans, some. Some are higher than that, bigger, but some are average like us. Some are smaller, but they mostly are very beautiful and friendly. I suppose. I heard. (Master laughs.) I am told; I read it, okay. (Laughter) So don't ask me anymore. (Laughter) You can read it in books, and ask those abductees, things like that. They'll tell you stories. Don't ask me. I only read, tell, and learn like you.

According to the Buddhist sutra, there are other beings as big as that. One time, namely the reverent Meguada something. Oh! I forgot his name, he was the one who was very good to his mother; his mother was in the hell. I don't know the Sanskrit name, I just forgot. One of the biggest disciples of the Buddha, one of the ten foremost disciples of Buddha, flew up to some other planet to visit other terrestrials. He stopped in one of the planets and at that time, some of the people there were having lunch. The bowl for rice and food, so big that he stopped at the edge of the bowl and he looked like a fly. So the beings talked to themselves and said, "Oh, God! This is a strange fly. We have never seen such in our place. Actually, it was the disciple of the Buddha, an Indian monk, but because people there were so big that even just to land on the edge of one of their rice bowls, he looked like a fly to them. So when you look at the fly on top of your bowl, maybe consider (laughter), maybe from another planet. Try not to kill them, because maybe they're some monks from somewhere on other planets, who knows? (Laughter)

So even within this planet alone, we already have so many different looking people. How could it be the same for us -- if the whole galaxy, the whole universe looked the same? It could not be the same. Perhaps some of the other planets have been keeping their tradition of a healthy diet, the secret of longevity, whereby our planet has lost it, because of disaster, because of our stubbornness or because some accident has befallen us that we have forgotten the secret of life. So we have degraded into this stage of living and into which our life span has become so much shortened than it is necessary for us to do things in this world.

If our life would be longer, probably we could do a lot more, but I don't know. The world has to have peace first. Then they have to sit together and talk about how to preserve this planet, how to purify the atmosphere so the citizens in this world will lead a better life, have a better future for our children. But if they continue to make war like this, even within their own country, within their own party, then I see no hope. Even if our life is healthy and stronger, war can destroy it anytime. They just drop an atom bomb and we're finished, with all our healthy cells ready to live (Master laughs) three, four, five hundred years. So maybe in the future we'll know how to live a better life or we'll be born in another planet which is better for our health, long life and spiritual progress.

The Vibration Makes A Difference

That's what we are trying to do, bring you to a better environment. You still will have your body, it's just finer. Every being has the body, it's just the vibration is faster or slower. If it's faster then we don't see it much or it's invisible. The faster, the more invisible; the slower the vibration, the more visible. Our finer body has been condensed into this block of material that is visible to all the naked eyes by slowing down the vibration of the energy. You can see when you're young, you sometimes use like a yo-yo or something. You spin something. When it spins very fast, you don't even see it, the thing, right? Or the electric fan there. It's moving very fast now so it's like almost transparent whereas it has four wings. When it stops you can see the four wings and through the four wings you can not see anything. But now because it's moving so fast you can see right through the four wings. And this is not even that fast compare to so many things in the universe.

Everything that your naked eyes don't see doesn't mean it doesn't exist. That's why sometimes during concentration time you step beyond the border of visibility and then you see the other world, other people surrounding you. Buddha is also around here, no where else He can go. All the beings also surrounding us; or if you left your physical body and went around with the astral body, also people don't see you but you can see other people. You can hear them, but they cannot hear you, they cannot see you. Just like after a person is dead, if he came back to see his relatives and friends, no one hears him, no one sees him, and he becomes very frustrated. So sometimes he has to try very hard to materialize for some time, maybe seconds or a few minutes and then people say, "Oh! I saw ghost! (Laughter) Actually they were in a finer body.

We also were in a finer world, then we tried to come down here. We had to slow down, slow our vibration so that the matter would be solid so we could have this. Actually, it's energy only. There is nothing really material about us, about our body even. Just that it was materialized by a slowing down process. So revere your body to use it for a noble and good purpose. Take care of it as long as it should last for your purpose of realizing yourself and helping our brothers and sisters to go back to where they belong so that they have eternal happiness and don't have to suffer in the dark here, where they should not even though they have chosen to do it. But when it's time, they should go home. We should be around and help them -- pull them out of the darkness, and bring them back, go together with us home.

Good night. Thank you.(Applause) Every time I speak differently. Sometimes I say the material body, don't care. That is for the people who indulged themselves too much in sleeping, eating, sexual indulgence and forget their real purpose. You can have all these as well, but beware, be moderate. The spiritual purpose is always the foremost. Take care with other things, slow down with other things. Go back Home, it should be the main goal of our life.
