The fewer fearful feelings we have, the braver and more mature we become. All obstacles are created due to fearful feelings. As spiritual practitioners, we should be frank and straightforward -- say what we have to say, and then forget about it right away. Don't keep it in our pocket, otherwise, it will be too heavy for us to go up in our spiritual practice. We should be as straight and hollow as a bamboo -- empty inside. That's why in China, a bamboo is analogous to a virtuous person. We shouldn't maintain a negative way of thinking -- being too pessimistic, seeing only the dark side, but should always look on the bright side.
