Before her initiation, initiate Chang had just been through her fourth heart operation. Because her eldest son was killed in a car accident, she was entirely responsible for the livelihood and debts of the whole family. These past few years she never received any assistance, and was able to pay off all the debts by herself. At the same time she made use of her time at work to help Master locate quite a few lost sheep. How did she do all of this?
Perhaps my past fate was not good. I believed in the Tao
religion for a long time hoping to use my sincerity to move the
gods to bless me and my family. After the operation, my eldest
sister who believed in my religion invited me to her home to
convalesce. My sister has been a vegetarian for over ten years,
thus I naturally had the opportunity to eat vegetarian food. The
room I was staying in happened to be the bedroom of her married
daughter. In her room I had the chance to read 'The Key to
Immediate enlightenment' left behind by her daughter. Immediately
I felt that Master is truly the Master I have been looking for.
That very day I gave my niece a call telling her I wanted to be
initiated.
Since the initiation, Master has been taking really good care
of everything for me, subduing my temper and helping me with my
livelihood. The most important thing is that everything happens so
naturally, invisibly, miraculously and ingeniously that it causes
one to be truly convinced. At the time of convalescence after
watching some of Master's video tapes, my state of mind changed
from darkness to brightness. I also understood better that all my
misfortunes were tests given by God Almighty and that the objective
of my life in this world is to practice spiritually. Because I was
deeply in debt I gave up my job at the factory and took up the
courage to try to get a taxi license. Not long after, with Master's
pictures, sample booklets, magazines and cassette tapes, I started
my life as a taxi driver.
Due to the fact that I listen to Master's tapes everyday, I
get to understand more and more about Her teachings and become more
and more convinced. Therefore, when I meet anyone who is interested
in Master's teachings I try my very best to propagate whatever I
know about Her teachings. In meeting those who misunderstand Mster,
I can usually make them change their view. Once I met a passenger
who could not understand why Master dresses up so beautifully. I
said, “Because the times have changed. During the time of
Shakyamuni Buddha there was a lack of material things. Most people
did not have shoes to wear. Thus he went barefoot begging for food
and preaching. Nowadays material things and civilization have
advanced so much, and the foreigners respect formal wear at formal
functions. If Master were to have a shaven head, to be barefooted,
or wearing old torn clothes, that would be very inappropriate,
right?” That person said before he alighted, “Miss, you have helped
your Master find a new believer.”
Some passengers, when riding the taxi would immediately tell
me to pass other vehicles, ask me to carry luggage, and even scold
me for not being as capable as a male taxi driver. I thought about
Master wanting us to practice tolerance, so I endured.
Consequently, not only was the matter over without incidence, but
also my temper has become more and more mellow. Sometimes some
passengers would jokingly say, “Miss, you do not look fifty at all;
so young and beautiful. How do you keep yourself so well?” I would
tell them from the bottom of my heart, “It is all given by my
Master!”
I have to have a minimum daily income to pay back my debts.
Fortunately I have been able to reach the daily target ever since
I took on the job of a taxi driver. I have just reached the second
anniversary of my initiation. The bliss and happiness of the past
two years has surpassed all the joy I have ever experienced in my
entire life. Now I only wish that I could finish paying all the
debts soon so that I could work less and meditate more, to be
closer to Master.
